It
is common knowledge that the initial cost of
installing an asphalt driveway is less expensive
than a concrete driveway. But there is the annual
maintenance of resealing the asphalt that over time
eliminates that cost disparity. Also asphalt is
installed at an average depth of 2 inches and
concrete at 4 inches. Clearly concrete is a superior
product. Recently we replaced an asphalt driveway
that had been installed 10 years earlier and had
deteriorated to the point that it was unsafe. Now
the homeowners look forward to a driveway that will
be there as long as their house is standing.
